Water is water. What about the Navajo people, the animals, plants, and land? Who is representing them? Fish & Wildlife? Arrogant SOBs I must say. cont… you say that john is the most caring person you know. i could say that mr stucker, the sithe rep. or the two people from f&w are the most caring people (i do not know them) and that john is a terrible person for what he is doing with this video. these type tactics hurt the process. as i said if the water rep said it all why misrepresent the others and ruin possible collaboration to find a solution?
the problem with your argument is that you are making judgments about people you do not know and propping up one person that holds your values. it is unfair and illegal to misrepresent these people and makes the collaboration with them more difficult.
It’s Good to see what matters to you because it appears we have now come to the Common Ground on which we can move forward with what we unites us All - the matter of protecting our global environment as you mentioned previously and continue to work hard to keep this plant from adding to the immense challenges already at hand, and at the heart of the matter.
what matters to me… a great many things, the global environment, justice and non-exploitation for ALL people, the list can go on. if john cares so much than why not do the research to know what is going on prior to putting out a government conspiracy theory with no support and misrepresenting people and placing it for all to see.
cont… telling a story is good, but sensationalizing it at the expense of people is wrong. it also makes it difficult for others of us in the media to gain access to these people after a video like yours runs.
cont… this has effected a great many governmental workers in the usfws, usfs and other agencies. good people trying to do what is best for the environment are painted as criminals. i can point to the biologist in san fransisco that lost his job due to a report changed by a supervisor then leaked as his own where the press crucified him. only after he was forced to resign did the truth come out.
i can agree with that however, harassment and misrepresentation of people on video or audio comment is the problem. you say yourself that the hydrologist said it all, so why put up the edited video that puts the other people who did not want to comment in a bad light.
John is one of the most caring and dedicated people I have ever known. That is the only reason for his work and the only thing he gets out of it. It seems we are no longer divided into democrats and republicans but people who care about people and our planet and people who care about control and profit. Time to choose… citizen or consumer? What matters to you?
I think we can agree people should start to look into what is happening and not take either side without studying the whole picture.
actually every time we log in it counts us as viewers. and if our little back and forth cause people actually become involved in the process by reading the public record and stop feeding into the sensationalist videos like yours we will have a much better society. this is one of many reasons that we need the reintroduction of the Fairness Doctrine so FoxNews type press (like your video) goes by the wayside in favor of truth in reporting.

its obvious that you do not care, or you would take the time to do some investigation into the record instead of making accusations. just because people do not want to talk to someone with a camera does not mean they are hiding something.

that’s the point, no one said anything… there was just someone with a camera saying “why wont you talk to us” and there are obvious edits. michael moore at least has done the research to back up his claims.

well i did as the guy suggested and looked at the public record and there are ~8 pages of comment from navajo agencies against the project. the people that made this video should do some research before they use creative editing and assumptions to make an issue out of something that isn’t. i feel sorry for everyone that was “caught on film.”
