FuturGen, a coal using power plant, was to be built in Illinois or Texas?

Illinois was chosen, but the project became to expensive. Yea right, didn’t go to a red state. So, with all of Obama’s campaining, why isn’t he mentioning this in his speach? Isn’t he an Illinois Senator? Aren’t we still paying him? Change my foot. Good talker…but that’s about it. If you took out Chicago which is where he got the black vote, he woulnd’t even have won his home state. I’m voting for Hilary…the only person for the only party that doesn’t support the War.

And you know what’s funny about it . . . the coal plant would have employed his base . . .
Obama is a Junior Senator from Illinois. That means he has very little clout within the Senate and doesn’t have the connections to pull in those kinds of deals.
Politics is all about the deal.
Not true. He carried ILL in a big way and with almost all groups.
A lot of people in TX didn’t want the coal plant (some did) and it is a senator’s job to get things for his or her state. We are still paying Clinton to be the Junior NY senator as well and she has brought things to her state as well.
She tried to bring a Woodstock museum, recently but that failed. I personally think that might have been a neat thing.
Clinton won NY by 16.5% and Obama won Illinois by 32%, which means he carried more than just the Chicago black vote. He in fact carried the majority of Illinois counties and carried almost ALL groups including whites. Here is a link which shows how he did with various voting groups.
Both are doing well and either will be a good president, but facts are facts and Obama carried many groups in IL. He also carried white men in GA and AL and that is quite a feat.
Here also is an IL county by county link.
