I helped build TanJung Jati B, and I will help build other similar plants in the future.

Global warming is a natural cycle overhyped by people with political agendas.

Mankind is a gross poluter in its farming, burning forests to clear land, have you looked at methane emissions from hundreds of millions of cows - methane is a far more dangerous greenhouse gas than CO2.

Greenpeace members could reduce CO2 and SO2 by throwing away all their electrical goods - but will they? NO WAY.

  3. jimbarin, February 9, 2009:

Greenpeace believe all you have to do to save the world is not to produce energy from:-
    coal - CO2 and SO2
    oil - CO2 and SO2
    gas - CO2 and SO2
wind turbines - spoil the view & are noisy
tidal barrages - spoil the view & block fish movements
    hydro-electric - block rivers & drown farmland
    nuclear - dangerous by-products

solar - is good but the sun does not shine at night!

Grow up Greenpeace - you fly around the world to global warming - talk about shooting yourself in the foot.

  4. ScareyHairyMary, February 13, 2009:

How the hell are we meant to get electricity nuclear isn’t real safe, wind turbines don’t generate enough power and solar would be quite expensive to implement, looks like coal
    the answer then!

  5. mturkka, February 15, 2009:

Same time greenpeace opposes real coal alternative ( Nuclear power ) … damn can’t they decide :D

fuck the represion from COAL..and the ignorance from that people.

    GREENPEACE UP!

  12. xVancha, March 5, 2009:

Can you two tell me *why* it was nice work? They probably did more harm than good considering their boat probably produced more carbon than they prevented.
They weren’t in a public place, and no one working at a coal factory is going to take any notice, they could have achieved much better results simply posting a video telling us “Coal is bad”.

  13. xVancha, March 6, 2009:

I don’t think it’s *right*, but it’s very possible in this day and age. What they did however, was stupid.

They achieved nothing, they didn’t do anything that would change anything, if they want to help reduce carbon emissions, then they should actually do something to help, instead of this…this idiocy.

  14. Liquidfire3240, March 12, 2009:

and spending so much money doing it, so much of the “valuable” fossil fuels while doing little to nothing isnt worth it in my opinion.

  15. zk0, March 13, 2009:

    Nice work! :)

  16. calvinjones, March 16, 2009:

Ohh a cynic. Great. Lets see, when did one of those ever change anything? These guys are fighting for what they believe in: getting of your **** and getting political is hugely important whatever your cause!

  17. calvinjones, March 18, 2009:

Agreed, it certainly seems to have brought out the nutter. Tresspas generally hasn’t been a death sentence offence, or even a serious one. Emitting carbon on a vast scale: that is a serious crime!

  18. nyprogressive, March 21, 2009:

The reactions to this are amazing. If you don’t know, should you presume that someone has a bomb, and shoot them? That’s crazy Homeland Security kind of thinking.

  19. xVancha, March 24, 2009:

Anyone who respects GP for this is stupid. All they did was risk themselves getting killed, putting up a banner there was never going to change anything in the slightest, what a silly, risky waste of time.

  20. rakimon, March 25, 2009:

there will be like many views and i’m the 7th posting :D

  21. megavolt121, March 28, 2009:

They got what they deserved. For all the security guard knew, they could have been carrying a bomb. They are VERY fortunate to be alive right now.

  22. Liquidfire3240, March 31, 2009:

So you were trespassing and carrying an unknown object to the top of an energy plant then vandalizing it, then act surprised when warning shots are fired?
You were trespassing, the crew had a right to defend itself and its property, not to mention how much gas you wasted flying all the way out there and in that boat…
    Grow up Greenpeace. Grow up.

  23. spiderfish, April 1, 2009:

Trying to raise awareness about environment issues is a noble goal, but it’s also extremely disingenuous when all GP does is shout and trespass on others people land.

Get real if you want to end the world’s oil dependency, you’ll first need to convince everyone to stop using electricity, cars and many other daily-basis products.

    Good luck with that.
