If Obama wants to regulate and tax coal producing power plants out of existence, and that is where we get our ?
Jennifer asked:
power from, and also if he thinks that $4.00 a gallon for gas is cheap and he thinks it should be higher. I don’t know about you but the cost of jobs, the increase cost of electricity, and the increase cost of gas (because we currently do not have the infrastructure that Europe has with railways and extensive bus routes. What are we going to do.
This coupled with increased taxes, I am not certain how we are suppose to survive?
We are not a wealthy family, about 40,000 a year and I am disabled. How will I feed my family, how will I be able to afford for my husband to get to work if the price of gas goes to $7.00 a gallon, and how will I be able to keep us warm in the winter and cool in the summer.
I know that he is “effervescent” say some, but don’t we want someone to HELP the public not take away jobs, increase the tax burden and the amount of money that we pay just for essentials?
I am confused. It is one thing to vote for someone to make history, but another to vote for someone who is going to make history but taxing us into oblivion.

What are your thoughts?
What will the headlines on the paper be on Wednesday morning. Welcome to a new era of the 2nd great depression.
Well done America, well done.

im very liberal but i believe th eonly other sustaining energy source we have is nuclear
For the middle class.
You’re not going to get taxed into oblivion. His tax plan is to give you the biggest tax BREAK.
Also, there are two costs that we pay for coal already: one is financial, the second is with our health and environment (more on that below).
Obama isn’t bankrupting anybody, or making them do anything. The energy companies have choices. They can use nuclear, natural gas & liquids, geo-thermal energy, wind, solar, petro-based products, etc., and they choose to use coal because it’s cheap, but they don’t consider the environmental consequences as a cost. Obama makes the consequences tangible to the power companies. If they make those choices, they are complicit.
“When coal is burned as fuel, it gives off carbon dioxide, the main greenhouse gas that is linked with global warming. Burning coal also produces emissions, such as sulfur, nitrogen oxide (NOx), and mercury, that can pollute the air and water. Sulfur mixes with oxygen to form sulfur dioxide (SO2), a chemical that can affect trees and water when it combines with moisture to produce acid rain. Emissions of nitrogen oxide help create smog, and also contribute to acid rain. Mercury that is released into the air eventually settles in water. The mercury in the water can build up in fish and shellfish, and can be harmful to animals and people who eat them. The Clean Air Act and the Clean Water Act require industries to reduce pollutants released into the air and the water.”
Sure, eliminating coal will drive up costs in the short term, but between paying a little bit more money vs. breathing more soot / ingesting more mercury… hmmm…. I think I’d rather pay more money. It’s the lesser of two evils, if you ask me.
yes if we don’t pay attention to his CHANGE , we are in big trouble, but i hope that American people much smarter than that,we don’t want socialism we want free speech, and freedom to do with our money what ever we choose to do not what Junior senator tells us to do,
